Hey everyone! I’m excited to share the wonderful wedding of Kyle and Jasmine, where I had the honor of being a part of their special day. Let’s take a trip down memory lane to see how it all began.

The Beginning

Love stories often begin in unexpected places, and for Kyle and Jasmine, theirs started on the slopes of Mammoth Mountain during a ski trip with mutual friends. Kyle had planned a skiing trip with friends when a few people dropped out the week before. Rushing to fill the spots, Jasmine was invited not knowing that her future husband would be there. As they carved through the snow, Kyle and Jasmine hit it off, spending the entire trip skiing side by side. For Jasmine, it was love at first sight, especially when she witnessed Kyle’s tumble down Cornice. From there, their bond only grew stronger.

Despite their diverse backgrounds—Kyle, who is originally from Simi Valley, and Jasmine, who lived in Illinois, England, and Japan growing up—Kyle and Jasmine found common ground and went on their first date watching a movie on Taco Tuesday. It was a simple yet significant moment that marked the beginning of their love story. On December 28th, 2022, Kyle and Jasmine got engaged skiing in the French Alps.

The Wedding of Kyle and Jasmine

The couple chose the serene setting of Ethereal Gardens for their ceremony. The ceremony commenced as the bridesmaids, in blue and green dresses, made their way down the aisle. Jasmine walked arm in arm with her father, joining Kyle, who stood waiting at the arch with his groomsmen in gray suits. The exchange of heartfelt vows and rings sealed their commitment to each other.

The reception kicked off  with a big intro for the wedding party. Then came the grand entrance for Kyle and Jasmine, with Beyoncé and Jay Z’s “Crazy In Love” from back in ’03. This was definitely the perfect track for their Grand Entrance. They walked hand in hand, smiling, while everyone cheered them on.

The  newlyweds did their first dance to  the song “More Lucky Than This” by Brent Walsh. This song holds a huge significance to the couple. This track resonated with them early in their relationship, during a trip to Santa Barbara. Brent Walsh says in his interview that the song “More Lucky Than This” is about being grateful for the relationship with your soulmate. He said “Even after all the bad times before you found them, it was all worth the wait if it took them here.”

Parent dance

Now, let’s not forget about the parent dances! The father-daughter dance and mother-son dance were heartfelt moments filled with emotion. For the father-daughter dance, they chose three songs which were a blend between different cultures. The dance began with an American classic titled “Every Breath You Take” by The Police, a timeless hit known for its poignant lyrics. Written by Sting, the song was released in 1983 as part of The Police’s album “Synchronicity.”

The song transitioned seamlessly into Jasmine’s Persian heritage with “Yasamin” by Andy & Kouros. This Persian pop masterpiece, released in the late 1980s, is renowned for its infectious rhythm and soulful vocals. Finally, the dance concluded with “Yeh Dokhtar Daram” by Hassan Shamaizadeh. The last two songs were cultural songs that represented Jasmine’s cultural roots.

As  for the mother-son, they had their dance to  Mark Harris’s poignant ballad “Find Your Wings.” Released in 2007 as part of his album “The Line Between the Two,” “Find Your Wings” offers words of wisdom and unconditional love. It was such a beautiful moment.

The Knife Dance

There’s more! One of the highlights of the night was “The Knife Dance”. Kyle and Jasmin took part in a cherished Persian tradition known as the knife dance, or ‘Raghs-e Chak-e Chenaar.’ As they hold the ceremonial knife, they move with grace and intention, signifying their commitment to face life’s challenges as one. The knife dance is more than just a cultural custom; it embodies the deep bond between husband  and wife, as they  cut through obstacles and pave the way for a future filled with shared dreams and unwavering support. In this moment, Kyle and Jasmine honor their blended heritage and embrace the significance of their union, celebrating the power of love to transcend cultural boundaries and unite hearts.

And let’s not forget about the cake cutting!. The lively tune of “Sugar, Sugar” by The Archies played softly in the background. With laughter and joy, Kyle and Jasmine shared this special moment with their loved ones.

Next came the reverse anniversary dance, a touching tribute to the love shared by couples of all ages. To the track “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You” by Bryan Adams, couples took to the dance floor, starting with those married for over 60 years and gradually leading to the newlyweds. The crowd came alive once they hit the dance floor.

Open Dance

Kyle and Jasmine had tons of musical requests, which I happily complied with. It is always nice when people appreciate the music and know precisely what mood they want to set among their guests. Tears of joy, happiness, embraces, and laughter happened during the last song, “Doses & Mimosas” by Cherub. The Cherub is an electro-indie duo from Nashville, Tennessee formed in 2010 consisting of Jordan Kelley and Jason Hube. “Doses & Mimosas“ is the eighth track from Cherub’s debut studio album, MoM & DaD.

The track is a bright and fun song inspired by the duo’s unique experiences and perspective on life.  “Doses & Mimosas” embodies the joy of living in the moment and embracing life’s pleasures. It’s a celebration of love, laughter, and the simple joys that make life worth living.

Let’s talk about Kyle and Jasmine’s adorable twist on the dance floor.  The couple danced happily to  “Doses & Mimosas,” surrounded by their loved ones with goggles on. What a cute moment for the couple! It was the perfect song to end the day.

I am more than sure that Cherub’s song fulfilled that purpose at Kyle’s and Jasmine’s wedding.  Here’s to Kyle and Jasmine, the new Mr. and Mrs.!  May your journey together be filled with blessings, love, and luck! Cheers to the happy couple!
